We continue expanding the regional dissemination and strategic alliances of EMPOANDES. From 25 to 28 August 2026, in Asunción (Paraguay), our project was presented at the Regional Workshop on National Frameworks for Climate Services (NFCS / MNSC) under the ENANDES+ project, funded by the Adaptation Fund and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC / Hub Regional Lima), and implemented by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
The event, organized by Aerthydral Collective (Alisios Corporation) for WMO, gathered key institutions and technical experts across South America to share experiences, address common challenges, and identify concrete opportunities to strengthen climate services and institutional capabilities throughout the region.
As part of the meeting, project partner International Research Center on El Niño (CIIFEN) presented EMPOANDES, highlighting the crucial importance of capacity building, specialized training, and curricula modernization to support technical staff and institutions in delivering effective climate services. In addition, participants collaborated in dedicated working groups to establish implementation roadmaps for National Frameworks for Climate Services, integrating regional support mechanisms such as the Western South America Regional Climate Centre (CRC-OSA).
We extend our gratitude to CIIFEN for representing EMPOANDES in this vital regional forum and for continuing to bridge capacity building, professional training, and climate service provision. We keep moving forward, sharing experiences and building synergies to strengthen regional resilience across the Andean countries!
